Agua de Río
Restaurant | Santa Marta, Magdalena, Colombia
Status: Built
Year: 2021
Area: 100 mt²
The restaurant Agua de Río is the relaxed version of its sister restaurant Casa Magdalena, which is located in the same building. Together they fill the site, a historic house in Santa Marta (one of the main cities on the northern coast of Colombia). Agua de Río, which serves breakfast through dinner and transforms later in the night for cocktails, embodies the Santa Marta feel, both in its food and branding. The spatial design embraces the “costeño-samario” (local and coastal) energy, while also being inspired by the café look and feel to callback to the restaurant’s relaxed nature and varied serving times. The project also satisfies the client’s desire to have both and elevated luxurious look and a laidback mood.
This project was completed while working at Colette Studio with the help of Sebastián Castro, under the supervision of co-founder Ernesto Lafaurie. See more of the project here.
