Casa Retiro

A house for a retired couple, with guest bedrooms for their (adult) children, on a hilly terrain with appealing views in various directions. For this project, the task was to use the architectural volume and intention — a house for rest and relaxation, connected to nature and the site, with three wings for distinct uses — to rearrange the interior architecture and propose the interior design. Essentially, the architectural volume was designed and “placed” on site by collaborator Esteban Hernandez, and what was left was to develop the interior project including arrangement of interior spaces, spatial distribution, construction details, electric, plumbing and lighting plans, selection of finishes, FF&E, and more. It was completed with the client and architect’s vision in mind, imbued by a knowledge and instinct for interiors.
